For designing any air conditioning system the most crucial step is to estimation of cooling load. The importance of accurate load for air conditioner design and selection of equipment can never be overemphasized. The designer has to take great care in this exercise so that the air conditioning plant can give trouble free operation over its life span.

In our project we are developing the software for cooling load estimation using visual basic 6.0 and using backend as MS Access 2.0. our main objective of behind this project is to reduce the times and effort required to estimate the cooling requirement .also, to get rid of the lengthy and cumbersome calculation.
For completion of this project we have gone through the following space:
• We have done complete study of basic fundamentals of AC, Psychometric, and human comfort.
• Study of the component of cooling load.
• Development of software.
• Estimation of cooling load using software and verification using analytical approach.

In our project we have 9 chapters in which we have included the basics of comfort air conditioning .We have come across the various definations,terms,formulas and expressions used in air conditioning. We also have included the programming specifications, the references and the appendix (tables, examples showing analytical method and notations list).
